Hey, my name is Kelly and I have been a chicken mom for about seven years now. I started out with a few layer chicks, and well, as most of you know, it grows into an addiction and a great love! I have layers, but I also have fancy breeds and I do show some of my chickens. My giant cochin line is from Jerry and Beth Smith. I also show standard silver laced polish that have won big this past show season. I have seramas, brown red modern bantams, a new line of show plymouth rock bantams, a few sultans, white crested black polish, white crested blue polish, silver phoenix, golden phoenix, Johnny-one black sumatra rooster, some mixed breed mutts that I love. My layers include, buff orpingtons, americaunas, rhode island reds, columbian wyandottes, red stars, speckled sussex, black austrolorps, Pete-who is head rooster out there in the yard, he is a golden laced wyandotte. I guess I have over a hundred chickens easily. I have one house chicken, Phoenix is his name. He is a bantam blue wheaton sport. He wears a chicken diaper around the house and his big bird cage is in the house too. He is spoiled rotten and is my baby.

Lets see, oh I have a show line of bantam silver spangled hamburgs I am working on perfecting with a new rooster in the picture for my hens. I also dabble in peafowl (4) and emus (3). I am looking forward to Spring as I want to get some Red Bourbon turkey poults to add to my menagerie. So, pleased to meet all y'all chicken folks, glad to be a part of this forum. I know a few folks here already, just been procrastinating joining. Now that its cold, windy, and rainy I figure I had some time indoors to read and post and what not.
