Looking to buy golden comet hens around 6-8 months old around montgomery/ wetumpka alabama

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Golden Comet is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links, which are produced by crossing a red gene rooster with a silver gene hen. Not only can the resulting offspring be sexed by color from hatching, but they are egg laying machines, outlaying either parent breed. It's one of the interesting quirks of hybridization. If you can't find Red Sex Links under the Golden Comet label, other labels they are marketed under include Gold Star, Red Star, Gold Sex Link, Brown Sex Link, Golden Buff, Cinnamon Queen, Bovans Brown, Isa Brown, Hyline Brown, Gold Lines, Shaver Brown, Babcock Brown, Lohmans Brown, Brown Shaver, Red Shaver, and Bovans Goldline. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your Golden Comets.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! This time of year, most feed stores will have chicks available (or be able to order them for you with their next shipment), and most will carry some sort of red sex link, Michael gave you a list of possible names they could be sold under.

Welcome to the flock. You may want to search for your state thread. I don't know if feed stores carry older pullets/hens. Generally they have "chick days" and they are very young, where you cannot be certain of their sex.
