Hello all,

I've been reading around here for a few months now and, as we finally started our flock last week, I decided to take the plunge and join BYC. Starting with a mixed layer flock of Barred Rocks, Silver-Laced Wyandottes and Black Autralorps, as well as a Welsummer rooster, and looking to learn all we can!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) You have a nice mixed flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
