Hello, and welcome! Do you have any poultry yet?
I'm a little on the late side answering these but I've been up to my knees in birds..Glad to meet you. Got birdz?
I started with 50 RIR, 50 Delaware, & 1 free mystery chick that is now the leader of a Delaware pullet and 2 RIR pullets. He turned out to be a black sexlink boy. This small gang of 4 roam 4 acres daily. They have a single panel hoop coop that I open in the mornings and hopefully remember to close at night. Since I've added some Cornish Roasters that are now mature birds that lay and crow. Some will go to freezer camp and the ones that get around like heavy white rock will be used for breeding research. I then added 50 Bresse, 30 White Giants, 20 Dark Cornish, 30 Anconas, 10 White Laced Red Cornish, a few New Hampshires, a few White Leghorns, and 25 Rhode Island Whites, a few Black Copper Marans, 25 unrelated RIR pullets, and last of all 25 Welsummers. For a retiree I have found a way to stay busy. I want to thank everyone for all the questions I have had and answers to even more that others have asked. It's time to get the egg basket out and go to work.
