New to chickens, new member. I stumbled into the forum looking to identify some birds I got that were supposed to be rhode island reds and are .....something else (still need to learn!) and found the section What breed or gender? to be very helpful. I've been reading for weeks before I even got around to registering. So many questions I had were answered already by other folks wondering the same things on a variety of topics vital to a chicken newbie.......
I'll post my photos of these mystery pullets in the correct section....So far I've only been able to determine that they are not rhode island reds as I got half that really were RIR and can see a huge difference, these others are flecked kind of like a barred rock but have red too.
In any event, I'm happy that researching them led me to such a great source of information.
