New member very eggcited

I have wanted chickens for a few years now but my ex husband was never keen on the idea and now that we are divorced and in the middle of an egg shortage I thought this would be the perfect time to start. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I think I am going to start with three Rhode Island reds. I have a daughter and I read they’re a relatively calm breed and good at egg laying. My daughter and I reside in South Florida and we love being outside and I’m so excited for her to grow up with chickens as part of our family and I think it will bring numerous good lessons for her in life!
