New member with a behavior question

Welcome to BYC! Swans and Ducks are easy to vent sex . I have a set of nasal speculums small medium and large for my swans . You turn them on their backs and put a towel over the head put some vaseline on the vent and open you will ether corkscrew thing or an oviduct . I raised some Cayuga years ago and they were solid black with green sheen mainly on the heads . That looks like eclipse plumage on your ducks , they may not get their nuptial plumage ( which is the pretty colors the males have ) for a wile , some times the voice don't change until they go through the second molt . I have seen this happen. I have to agree with @sourland . I think at least one is a drake maybe two . I learned how to vent sex ducks years ago from a book it saves a lot of wondering. The actions you are describing is typical of a male , he grabs the back of the hens head and holds on wile he stamps his feet on her back so she will submit to breeding . I suppose anything is possible . Hope this helps. Good lucks with your ducks .

Oh my! I'm hoping Frankie is just displaying dominate female behavior. I only have a 10X5 run and 4X2 coop (plus a backyard to forage). There isn't space for more ducks if they are male and female and breed. I'll keep my fingers crossed for now and see what happens 🤞I can't separate them right? They are bonded 100%
