New Member with concern of botulism

Would a vitamin deficiency be likely with a pellet layer feed? She gets scratch twice a day and free ranges near the house. More recently dried meal worm treats and the alternate days of the vinegar and rooster booster?

It won't hurt to offer poultry vitamins in her water. Poultry Nutri-Drench, Rooster Booster Poultry Cell or similar can be found at most feed stores.

If she is housed with 2 roosters and they are both mating her - then she may be suffering injury and stress and not eating well. You may want to house her by herself with her own food and water to see if there is a marked improvement in several days.

some birds have a hard time assimilating vitamins, so it is a possibility-

We've had just gone through a heat wave as these signs first occurred. There have been periods of heavy rain since. Fungus and mildew are in the area as a norm. In previous writings I mentioned her being observed eating the remains of feed off the ground where portable pen had been and in some place mold growing over old patches of dissolved feed. The others were not observed with this feeding habit and why I've come to suspect botulism. The other flock is housed over 300 feet away but have come within 100 feet. No signs like this in that flock which have the same feed but inside a building with a plywood floor. Will look at your link.

I've since moved their pen onto a concrete pad under a roof and am using pine straw bedding.

She has a strong appetite and eats and drinks well. No signs of trauma or injury are observed.
