Hi We just moved to a place where we can have chickens. It is still cold but we are learning about hatching and keeping chickens. I have not found yet how to post a question other than this link to introduce myself. I hope to get in here somehow because the learning curve is steep and we are already incubating eggs from the neighbour. I am getting confused with all the info out there from neighbours, web sites and youtube and library books, so I decided to keep it simple and get the facts from one source from people who have experience with chickens. My name is Andrea and I hope to have some chickens in 20 days.

Nice to meet you Andrea, Welcome to Backyard chickens. I have never incubated eggs so I'm sorry I am no help. You could post your questions on one of the current "Hatch-a-long," threads. Or check out the incubation thread (just put that in the search box and it will pop up.

You post on any forum just like you did here-.

Ok I just found the button how to reply. Where is the button for the "new thread" or "start new post" or something like that? I have been clicking on links for 3 hours and I managed to post these two. :0( now I start to feel stupid. I have been reading threads, maybe someone already asked the questions I want to ask but I have not found it. It's time to turn the eggs. Ugh .. I am on the phone not on the computer. does that make a difference? Thanks for your response!!

Greetings, Andrea, and

! Happy you joined our community! I have very little experience hatching so I cannot advise - but I wish well and hope you have a successful hatch!

I also have eggs in the incubator for the first time. I am trying chicken eggs before my peafowl start laying. I am on my phone as well. You can hit the lines in the far left corner when you open the app. That gives you a menu and you just choose forums and then it will give categories

Hello, and welcome to Backyard chickens! I am so glad that you joined us, and I hope you will make yourself at home here and enjoy it as much as I have! :frow

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
