Hi! My name is Kathey and I joined a few weeks ago. It seems I should have done my introduction before asking questions, but I was anxious and did it the other way around. I have had 4 Rhode Island Red hens for about 4 months now. They are 1 1/2 years old. My daughter has 11 and when she moved she split them with me. I took 4 and she kept 5. Almost immediately, my 4 started to lay. Now one is broody and has been for almost 3 weeks. Their names are Quizzer, Claree, Hazel Faye and Henrietta. Quizzer is the broody. I just got a 3 month old rooster today, so I have lots of questions coming up. Quizzer wants babies and now I am excited for that to be in our future. I look forward to learning as much knowledge from all of you as I possibly can!

Hello, Kathey, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I wouldn't worry too much about one cockerel to your 4 hens. Cockerels/roosters always have their favorites and those are the ones that will show wear. However, the hens might not necessarily accept him right away.
