(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Last week

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 1 chicken, 2 ducks

(3) What breeds do you have? French Gallic rooster, 2 Muscovy ducks (both females we think)

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? watching them and learning about them

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? landscaping, gardening, cooking, wild birds, aromatherapy, herbal medicine

(6) Tell us about your family: "empty nester" ;-)
your other pets: dog (thinking about goats)
your occupation: community health worker
living on densely wooded acreage under constant threat of blackberry, moss and ferns

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

Beautiful ducks! And, they look very happy in their surroundings.

I am a bit jealous of your acreage; my place is surrounded by flat, windy Iowa farm fields. At planting and harvest time, large machines repeatedly cross those fields, much to the dismay of my hair sheep and miniature goats ( I can highly recommend goats for their entertainment and landscaping value. Plus with goats, you will be constantly challenged to find new ways to keep them from escaping whatever clever containment system you think you have devised).
