Just joined. Been reading this site for months and have decided to join. New to raising chickens. I am thoroughly enjoying it. I find myself with the chickens every time I can. I have 5 production reds.
All get along and no problems so far. They like to use me as a perch when I am out with them. I am an avid coop cleaner. Cleaning it about 2x a day and thoroughly 1x a week. Its amazing to see how fast chickens grow. One day cute Lil babies and then almost overnight nearing adulthood. Luckily for me all my neighbors are supportive and enjoy asking how they are doing.
I have wanted chickens since I was a child. I am now 49 yrs old. Waited about 40 yrs. For a dream come true. Have never eaten fresh farm eggs in my life. Can't wait for my first taste....and from my own hens! Anxiously waiting. Just wanted to say hello and share a bit about me.

You will love the eggs..and eggs you will get with all of those great egg layers..an egg a day for a long time. Might want to go check out the recipe thread to see how many different ways you can use those eggs.
