Hi, I'm currently in Los Angeles, California and am planning on moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm a U.S. Army Veteran. I'm looking forward to moving so that I can have backyard chickens, ducks and peafowl. I would really appreciate any information on locations I should look into living so that I can actually own these animals in my backyard.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Thank you sincerely for your service to our country. I don't know anything about the zoning restrictions in Nevada. You could post on the state thread - perhaps someone there could advise you.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Thank you for your years of service to our country. You can find the Las Vegas ordinances regarding chickens at https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/las-vegas-nevada-chicken-ordinance. Hens are allowed but not roosters, and they must be confined (no free ranging). Of course if you end up buying a home in an HOA, there is a good chance that your HOA covenants will not allow chickens at all. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your move and in getting your flock.
