I am new also. I just got 7 buff orpington baby chicks - one week old. I am raising them up. One is male and six are female.

Welcome to the Backyard chickens flock, what breeds do you have?

I have BUFF ORPINGTONS! I now have nine and one of the girls ended up being a boy so I have 7 females and 2 males. One of the males will be going to join another flock when he grows up I suppose.
