Hello
I'm new here and can't wait to ask questions and read more about chickens snd how to raise them.

I have a question about the timing of introducing my 10 young brown leg horns to the rest of the gang. The ithers are 3 and 4 years old Ameraucanas and columbian rocks and ine Ameraucana rooster. There may be at least one biy in the young batch although i ordered hens only. Oh well.
They have been able to see each other through chicken wire outside and inside but I have not let them together, the young ones are about two months old now and all feathered out.
I have heard that you are supposed to wait until they are similar in size before you introduce them to each other.
Any input?

I think the "Look but, don't touch," method of integration is the gentlest method. If you put it in the search box it will come up. I don't know if having a grown rooster in the ranks dooms the process. The examples I have read about on BYC have involved introducing young birds to hens.
