(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Hello! I am still a bit new to chicken rearing. I got my first 6 baby chicks about a year ago. Before that I new nothing about raising chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 5 chickens now. One got eaten by a neighborhood dog.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have 2 Ameraucanas, 1 Isa Brown, 1 Black Australorp, and 1 Buff Orpington who lays 4oz eggs!
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
BackYardChickens.com was the dominant site I found when researching how to care for chickens! It quickly became my go to for questions and answers! Now I feel it is time to join the community.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Cooking, reading, discussion, and knitting when I have time...
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I raise our chickens together. We also have 2 cats: Pirate and Gambit.
