Hi my name's ambrosia I'm a newbie chicken owner I have 4 hens that were hatched in March of this year. I have 2 sex links I believe a barred rock and I think a amaracauna but I'm unsure. We live in colorado and let our chickens free roam in our back yard with our 3 dogs and they co mingle greatly. We wanted chickens as we buy our meat from locals so we can try and stick to farm to table ideas which I find is more nutritious and gives our kiddos a better experience of being thankful for where their meals come from. 2 of our girls are laying eggs as were impatiently waiting for the other 2! Thanks for adding me! I've attached a few pictures and even would like some help figuring out their breeds. One photo has a picture of a Rhode island red that we had to give away as it was a rooster

Yea I kinda thought so about the Easter egger part... Well that's 2 strikes from getting chickens from this lady. Do you guys think she is a hen. It's the first picture?

Welcome! Farm to table is better for all and it will help your kids to appreciate how precious life is and how lucky we are! Good luck and have fun with your hens!

Hello and welcome to BYC. I think the first picture you have is also a female as if you look at her feathering she has rounded tips on the ends of her feathers. She has small comb that is not deep dark red also sign of females. Look at her legs and see if they have a green tint to them. Most Easter Eggers do. Well at least mine do.
