Hi! I am a new member to this community, but have been lurking since the beginning of the year when I first started to think about raising chicks. I finally gave in and bought my first chicks last April at a local feed store. I got 12 chicks; 2 ISA browns, 3 Cornish Cross, and 6 bantams. Unfortunately, a neighbor's dog got into my yard and took 4 of my bantams. Besides those 4 losses, I was able to raise the rest of my flock. I harvested my CX last June, and now my Browns are laying great!
I found out about this community when I first started looking into chickens, as this site was the first to pop up in Google searches. Some of my other hobbies include hiking, fishing, and gardening. I am 18 years old with 2 siblings and currently in college. I'm so glad to be a part of this family!
