New Member!

Thank you! I need a lot of help! Or should I say my chickens would like me getting help!!
Well, I guess my first bit of advice should have been: Breath! It will be OK! If you ask 10 of us a question, you'll likely get 12 different answers. There are lots of different husbandry styles and approaches and most of them are very good. In the end it just comes down to what works best for you and your birds, when you find that, you will have found your style.:thumbsup

G’Day from down under Donna :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: Find Your State Thread

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Welcome to BYC! Glad you've joined us! You're right about most commercial coops looking way too small. Most people here suggest st least 4 sq ft of floor space per chicken in the coop and 10 sq ft per chicken in the run. Each nest box can service 3-5 ladies. Hope this info helps!
