I began raising 6 Rhode Island Reds I purchased as chicks in April of 2016. I have been hooked ever since.
I only have three of the original, two died on excessively hot days, and the third died after taken to the vet, where they determined she had a possible genetic issue causing her to be unable to expel her eggs.
In August I purchased what I thought where two white leghorn hens (thinking at least one is now a Rooster) and three Black sex link chickens. I was given a duck and need to get her friend soon! I am hoping to have a very healthy flock for years to come. I enjoy reading the many posts from this group. I currently have a hen that for the second year in a row is molting in late fall. Very frustrating as the temps are getting down in the lower fifties at night. Last year she was almost totally naked.

We are glad you joined our flock.
Poor girl, molt's are hard on them. So sorry for your losses
