Greeting from Bonnie Scotland. I became interested in chicken while over at a friends who lives in The Netherlands. Her neighbour had a flock of about 25 and every day I would watch them for hours laughing at all their silly antics. I said there and then that when a got back home that I was going to get some chickens. Got a pre-made coop and hire a friend to build the run. Everything was finished last week and I'm the proud owner of a 25 week Buff Orpington and getting a white and black pullets Cochins this week. The chickens are pets so not worried about many eggs they lay. I been lurching about the forum for weeks now, getting all the info about what I need and require for the chickens. You have great advice on this forum. Merry Christmas when it comes Hennypenny61

G’Day from down under Hennypenny61 :frow Welcome and Congratulations!

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Best wishes for a bright and cheerful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
