we love our silkies, my wife didn't want chickens because she thought they were mean to each other and constantly pecked one, she also thought they were loud. so I had to find the nicest and quietest breed, hence why we have silkies. they are just cute little fluff balls
They are sooo cute!:love if y'all ever get surplus :D im always here:celebrate

Haha! I understand where your wife is coming from! I used to think they were just dumb, gross, mean creatures until I got a house on three acres and I decided chickens would be fun. Right now I have 6 eggs in the incubator just because my husband wants to see what our chickens babies would look like. :lau

nothing was more exciting then when we found our first egg in the nest box!!! I plan on leaving one egg in there in the spring if one of my hens goes broody. Ive read that silkies are very good mothers and I would like to witness this

Hello and welcome to BYC!! It’s so nice to have you join us. welcome.gif

I think you may be pleasantly surprised with Silkies brooding if you re hoping for that. All my Silkie hens are crosses and they all go broody, several times a year...lol. I have a Silkie/Easter Egger cross hen that's broody right now. She's extreme though...lol.
