Hi, I'm Amy. Just joined to try to learn and find new information on my new chicken hobby. I'm mainly into oegb and we have black, blue brassy backs,bb reds, and silver gingers right now.. I also have 2 polish hens and a lavender Orpington rooster and blue Orpington hen that free range. I love my chickens and spoil them like crazy. We also have a great Dane that loves to lay in the yard and watch the chickens scratch around.

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/)
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear.
