My wife and I decided to start raising chickens here in Rio Rancho, NM.
She has a friend back home in NH that has some.
We are starting our flock with 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Brahmas.

Congrats! Be aware that in a year (or sooner) you could have dozens!! I started with 5 and soon I had 25! They are so fun and you just keep adding to the flock as you try new ones! My favorites are the Buff Orpington. They are a heritage chicken, dual purpose, good egg layers and good mamas. Am going to try some Barnevelders in June Good luck and have fun!
