Hello Everyone! I am new here and excited to learn from all of you. I am building my first coop next week and hope to get it finished and my chicken yard built by April 1st. My friend is gifting me her 5 hens if I can get it done. I have to build a fenced in area for the chickens because I don't have fences all around my yard and live in a subdivision. I have over an acre but we have coyotes at night that roam around. I'd like to let them free range one day.

I am making the red and white barn looking coop. Hopefully the image comes through with this post. You may need to scroll through to see my project.

I am making this red and white coop that should be big enough for 7-9 chickens.

G'Day from down under idaholbrook :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
