Thanks for the welcome everyone. I am enjoying it quite a lot here. I also have some (so far) good news. After looking up a few specific things in the forums, I made another trip and picked up suggested item (save-a-chick electrolytes, probiotics, etc) and more chicks so I now have 9 and the little one I was worried about is doing fine (she was wobbly).

All nine of my girls (afaik) playing around in their coop. The larger ones are all RIR and the three smaller are (very sassy) Ameracaunas. The weather is still really cool at night so I'm keeping their coop warmed, but letting them out during the day when it's nice enough. I check on them several times a day and I love how they all come toward the door chirping at me. I do handle them a bit each day since I also want them to be pets.

I am sorry that you lost some. TSC is the likely cause but check the learning center under articles for chick raising tips

I did check, and I think that's why I'm having a lot better luck now, that and the new batch is from Orschelns.
