Hi everyone! I thought I'd take a minute and do a fast introduction of myself.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm not really new to chickens. We don't have chickens at our house (because we live in city limits and there is a no fowl ordinance) but we have a farmer friend that lives about 10 minutes outside of the city limits and that is where our chickens "live"
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have 5 chickens and 6 ducklings but just got a shipment of 14 new hatching eggs this morning
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have Bielefelders and at the farm there are New Hampshire Reds, Delewares, a couple leghorns, a few Austrolorps and a few local mix breeds
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I found out when researching chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I do some distance running and I really enjoy traveling
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am the mom to two very active boys, one is 13 and the other is 10. The 10 year old is my fellow "chicken keeper" and he is the one that wants to be a full time farmer or vet when he is grown. He has a pet goat (that lives at the farm with the chickens) and at the house we have a cat and a dog. I am a school level administrator so it makes for entertaining times!
