Chicken Math Got Me Bad....

And then there were 11. I got home from work today and went out to grab everyone for a quick butt check and photo snap. Everyone was spunky with ginormous crops except the splash ameraucana. She was laying weak and not moving under the front of the heat plate.

I picked her up, brought her in the house and set her up with a microwaved rice sock to try to get her warmed up.

I got a drop of nutri-drench in her and a drop or two of honey but she seemed to just decline quicker. She just passed a few minutes ago.

Number 3 looks like my Olive Eggers (Ideal does a EE/Welsummer cross) and my Welbar (which is Welsummer/Barred Rock cross).

There are indeed so many with feathered legs! I was surprised because I mostly tried to avoid that. One or more of my OG girls has something against them and will pluck other chicken’s feet. Ah well.

And I think I agree with you on which is the CCL and Welsummer after staring at chick pics on the hatchery’s website.
