Hi! I live in SE Michigan and am in the first year of keeping a laying flock on our small farm/beginning homestead.
We have 11 hens, with 2 or 3 just starting to lay, and one handsome Buckeye rooster.
Breeds include Buckeyes, Ancona, RIR, Australorps, Silver Spangled Hamburg, Easter Egger, and Egyptian Fayoumis.
Looking forward to learning a lot and sharing experiences and photos!
Also interested in learning about meat birds, with the goal of keeping a small flock this spring.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!:welcome BYC is a helpful site providing all the information you need to know about poultry! There is always space for more members on the BYC roost!:highfive: I have a friend who lives in Michigan who has around 60 broilers and 40 egg-layers. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
