If you have too much trouble free ranging and losing birds, you may want to keep them in the run until you can supervise them. I have predators lurking constantly and can't let them free range without me keeping an eye out. So unfortunately they have to be kept in the run until I can be present. If you have a large run, they will do fine if you give them things to do....ladders, mirrors, levels, flake of alfalfa hay, hanging friuts and veggies, ect...
