1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm fairly new to chickens, I got 2 last July and read a bunch of posts from here.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 2 hens and 2 chicks, but one chick is a boy so, 3 keepers.
(3) What breeds do you have?
A mixed flock with my silver laced wyandotte hen, welsummer hen, production red chick, and barred rock cockerel.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs.... and they're so fun to just watch! I also love fluffing them when they squat.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I play video games competitively, but not professionally.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a rescue chihuahua mix who my grandma might have stolen from her neighbor's when she found out he was being abused and neglected. He's very happy with is now though!
Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
When my family moved to a new city it rekindled a desire I had in high school to have chickens! We saw there was a feed store a 5 minute drive away and saw those little babies. So I went home (chicken-less) and did as much research as possible and found this site! I read a bunch of posts and articles from here before going back to the feed store to get my ladies.
