Hello, and welcome! Glad that you joined! How close to the house is your coop that the hen's squawking disturb's your hubby? Or do you free range them?

He likes to let them out if we're home and on weekends (I think they squawk more when out, one starts up in am about 5:30 & whenever they see us or hear the screen door). Coop & run is about 50' from living room.

They are probably trying to ask you for treat's then.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens and yes they can be loud is there a way you can move the coop further away ? do not offer treats to quiet them you will have sick birds treats once a week or every other week really please
