Hi Charles, welcome to BYC.
If you are planning to start with 100 birds, one may perhaps assume you live a rural or country lifestyle rather than an urban one. Will you have other livestock or farm animals as well, or just chickens?

I live in SE MO with my DH, 2 grandchildren, a Sheltie and (at the moment) 29 feathered friends. Any questions you may have as you embark on this journey of voluntary hensanity, just ask - there are many experienced and knowledgeable people here very willing to help and guide you, and others, such as myself, who are only too happy to whistle them up for you when need be! ;)
Thank You :)
Yes I am living in a rural area on 10.5 acres.
Only other animals at this time is 4 dogs, which are kept away from the chicks we have now. I live in SE TX between Huntsville and College Station.
I will have chickens, ducks and turkeys eventually.:D
Don't really want any meat birds but egg layers.
Love fresh eggs and already have had some people interested in buying eggs
