Just wanted to update everyone!!! HeiHei is home safe!!!! My husband was driving to work this morning and looked over at the neighbor’s yard and there she was standing on top of his septic mound eating bugs. ‍ The neighbor and my husband said she was lucky nothing got to her overnight. It’s crazy that she was with the other three near the coop door last night around 6:30. The others went in and she wandered to the neighbor’s yard instead. Our neighbor is close but not that close. She still had to go through a small wooded area to get there. The important thing is she is home safe and sound. I’m just grateful her adventure only costed me a night’s sleep and not her life. I truly feel that my prayers were answered last night for her safe return.

Welcome to BYC, and glad that your hen is okay. It is still possible that she was spooked away by a failed predator attack. If possible I would keep them penned up today and only free range while they could be monitored. If it was a predator, it will return. Good luck.
