Hello All,
I am new to chickens...I was given 10 tiny hatchlings in May. I now understand how much you can really love and enjoy chickens! I guess I have 3 roosters and 7 hens. Mine are "Mutts" I have been told. lol Always did love pound puppies. Getting ready to build a large coop and run, where is the best place to get free plans with measurements? If I leave it to Mr. I will have a coop the size of a small house.

You might want to consider purchasing a used or clearance shed and converting that into a coop. Pretty easy and must faster than building from scratch.

I would probably consider rehoming two of your cockerels. The ratio should be at least 1 rooster per 8 hens. Just a suggestion to prevent overbreeding and aggression between the males.

Hi, and Welcome from Southeast Missouri! What area are you in? Cold winters? Hot humid summers? Be sure you take into account the local conditions as you build the coop and run. And, yes, go ahead and let Mr build it the size of a small house. You can always fill it with more chickens!
