Hello, and welcome! Glad that you joined! I wouldn't keep a mean rooster that attacked me, nor would I hatch out any egg's that he was the father to.

I didn't know the aggression was hereditary. Too late. They are due in 3-5 days.

My rooster was brought to a beautiful farm with 150 chickens and 30 roosters. They are a rescue sanctuary, so he will be happy.

About my expecting Momma. Should I leave her in a very small coop with a 1' X 2' area to hatch and take care of chicks for about a week? There is no room in the run for a dog crate. The coop and run are all attached and predator proof. I wanted to watch but maybe leaving her in the coop is better.
I only have 1 cochin and 1 silkie rooster in there.
