Hi my name is Belinda, New chicken owner. Hatched off first batch of baby chicks, some didn't hatch,

they were under a mother hen

Good Morning Belinda and welcome to BYC! Sorry to hear about your baby chicks. I too am thinking of getting some hatchings to try with the grandkids. Just started my flock as well and they now are starting to lay.

Some of them my fault, the others I blamed on the rooster
