1st time chicken owner. I have 18 RIR hens that were born 5/15/19.

Got chickens to have eggs, I had no idea how therapeutic chickens could be. They actually started laying on the day they were 20 weeks old.

My husband & I sold our A/C business & our house in FL 3 years ago. Moved to WNC and started our own little farm “Feisty Ranch Farm” we had our 1st amazing garden, all organic, this past year, got our 1st chickens, pigs & cows are next (as soon as we get everything fenced) we have 2 cats. And we
have since opened a coffee shop/ice cream parlor/cafe in town. This helps supplement our income & allows us to also sell our produce & eggs at the cafe. We also feed our chickens organic feed. Our goal is to do everything organically. So that’s our story.

I found BYC because every time I had a question and googled it, I ended up on your forum. Yesterday on FB a friend told me I should use BYC & I told her I already did & what an amazing group this was. I didn’t realize that I wasn’t a member until I was going to ask a question today. So here I am.
