Hello everyone. I am Gary and I'm from Pennsylvania USA. Have been reading and studying backyard chicken raising . I don't have any birds at the moment. Still getting setup and ready and gathering all the info I can. That's why I'm here.. figured no place better for info and guidance that on a sight that is full of people that have the same interest. I do have 2 Golden laced Wyandottes 2 Easter eggers and 2 buff orpingtons (all girls) arriving in March. Can't wait!! Still gives me some time to prepare

Yes. I do have a 6 x 8 she'd that I plan on using part of or all of for coop.. not really sure how much room I need for six birds or the more the better

That sounds like a great size for 6 birds just make sure you have plenty of ventilation. Here is a good read:
