Hello, my name is Beth. I became a crazy chicken lady in 2015. I have 5 hens. A Golden Comet, 2 Buff Orpingtons and 2 Americanas. I love them dearly and they are spoiled rotten. I am married and have 2 daughters, 8 and 5. The kids love our girls and the girls love our kids. It’s such a great experience for my daughters. The next part of our journey is going to be hatching a few Silkie babies. The kids are so excited. They love raising the baby’s with TLC. So I am on a search for about 4 fertilized Silkie eggs. Let me know any tips on incubation (although I have been studying) and where the best place to purchase quality eggs that are carefully shipped. Thank you!

Hi Beth and welcome to BYC. If you are new to incubating, I’d advise getting some cheap, locally available fertile and have a couple of practices before spending good money on shipped eggs. Try the breed thread for possible sources of fertile eggs. Make yourself at home and enjoy the forums.

Best wishes
