Hello all. So grateful for this group and forum since I am new to raising chicks. I currently reside in Billings, Montana and have 8 chicks (2 Barred rocks, 2 wyandottes, 2 saphirre gems, 1 rainbow and 1 brahma). They are about 5 weeks old and so far are doing well. Today I transitioned them into their new coop during the day as the temp outside was about 50 degrees and sunny. They seemed to adapt well however they did not seem interested in trying to walk down the stairs into their run. They are definitely outgrowing their brooder but Montana weather is not always warm in the spring. I am curious how to get them to use their stairs or should I just focus on keeping them in their coop until they figure it out? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to our FUNomenal community! :wee
I hope you enjoy it here as much as we do!
Try putting just a couple on the ground and the rest may follow or up in the coop and try getting the rest to go up. They usually will play follow the leader. Hope that helps!
Best wishes and be well! ❤️
