I know was a thought in the dark! So I’d probably need at least two females huh?? Ohfhta thanksWelcome to BYC! Definitely stop by the duck forum for more opinions...
I have this same problem out of my drake. It's really bad this time of year because they are starting to mate pretty heavily. During the day when they free range the chickens usually just avoid him, but when it is time to be penned for the night, I have to have separate pens for ducks and chickens.
Also, the benefits won't outweigh the risks in having your drake fixed. I don't think vets are willing to do it, and I certainly don't advise anyone to try it themselves.
Hi Pat! If you don't have females for the drakes, the boys could seriously harm your hens. Maybe it would possible for you to separate them?
oh wow I’ll have to find a home for them & just get ladies! Mmmm my intent was just one of each ! Oh well thanks so much for all the repliesHi Pat and welcome to BYCWe're so happy you've decided to join us
You'll want 5-10 ducks for each drake
