I am relatively new to raising chickens. I grew up in the suburbs, went to school and lived in NYC for 14 years, and now live on a farm in Tennessee. My husband is the one who has encouraged us to raise chickens. We have had all kinds of mixed breed chickens, anything anyone gave us! After some predators killed all but four of our flock, we bought an incubator and decided to hatch some eggs, since no chickens are broody right now. I started out with 6 eggs and only two hatched, at 21 days. It is now 25 days, and I hate to give up on a miracle of more hatching! What do you suggest? Also, when the two chicks get old enough, should I introduces them to the flock of four? If so, what is the best way? They are really like pets more than anything. We have a fenced in chicken tractor, and try to protect them from predators, but sometimes a weasel sneaks in. It always breaks my heart. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks!
