Hi All!
Just wanted to introduce myself. I’ve had chickens for a few years now but this is the first time hatching eggs and I’m a little nervous. We had fertile silkie eggs and no one went broody so I bought an incubator. And about five days after getting those eggs into the incubator the silky went broody. And then another one went broody. And now I’ve got a black copper Marans is gone broody. So I’m going to have hopefully lots of chicks running around. I’m a little worried about managing the incubator eggs. So I’m finding all of the threads and information here very helpful.
Cheers.

Hello, Diane, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
How old are the broodies?
I would let them stay broody and move them now into ground nests. Let them set on fake eggs or golf balls. If they are still determined broodies at 14 or 15 days, I'd candle the eggs and slip the viable ones under the broodies and let them take it from there.
The mothers and chicks communicate with each other before hatch.
