Hello. I have a duck that is 8 weeks old. I call him Francis, and I’ve raised him since he was about a day old. He’s an orphan, found in my driveway. I thought at first he was a mallard, but he has two white stripes on his head, that developed last week. I came to the conclusion that I have a male wood duck. I’m a history buff, so yes, he is Francis the Drake. His favorite pastime is swimming, (of course) and chasing cats. He’s a house duck. We have a very close bond, and makes sounds that are in between R2D2 and a Tribble.

After looking at your profile picture, it does appear that your drake is a Wood Duck. Ducks do best in pair(Or more) so you may consider getting him another friend.
