Hello! I'm new to raising chickens. I have 6 Cross Cornish chickens that are 5 weeks old. I also just aquired 8 Leghorn layers. They are approximately 4 ish months old. A friend got the Leghorns through Craigslist and her hubby decided he didn't want chickens that lay white eggs so she gave them to me.

Your Cornish Cross (aka CX) will be ready to process in 3-4 weeks, maybe sooner depending on what you're feeding them. If you'd like I can drop in a couple of videos on how I do it. Where are you located in general? Some folks will rent out their equipment and offer instruction.
