Hello everyone, my name is stephanie and I'm back to raising chickens. 10 years ago I was known as the chicken lady in our town with over 200 BO's. I've recently restarted with Silkies. Started with 5 hens and a roo and now have over 70 babies only 2 months later. I'm new to silkies so trying to learn all I can. Have 2 standard whites, standard black, frizzle black and a lavender smooth cuckoo. I have a black roo. We now have an adorable assortment of all colors and types. Some frizzled and some sizzles. Had a super hard time understanding frizzle and sizzle difference till actually got some babies. Now 8 weeks old, we are having a heck of a time deciding what to in keep and what to sell. Thank you for this wonderful site where so much info is available. Thanks- Happpy Chicks in Central Texas.

Welcome Stephanie, it's very nice to meet you. You really had over 200 BO's :th
Yes, started with 6 and after 5 years was over 200 at a time. I loved my buffs. Right now I have 6 teenagers and cant wait till they are grown. They are so friendly. I have one that already follows me around like a puppy. I live in a small country town and we have a feed store takes most excess roosters off our hands so it really helps. So 6bsilkies grown, 6 corps, 4 australorps and 6 easter Eggers. Started this again because of covid and homeschooling grandkids. Wanted to teach them all I can about raising our own food. I'm retired now and this is such a rewarding hobby and wonderful exercise to stay in shape keeping up with all this work.
