Hello everyone! I am very thabkful for being added to this group! I currently have 9 chickens and 8 ducks along with multiple other animals. I work in GP small animal veterinary medicine and farm animals are alien to me! Ive been so thankful for everyones advice and help so far and am looking forward to the learning! Thank you for your time and energy!!!

Thank you! I believe my chickens may have dry fowl pox. Ugh! Im trying to learn everything I can. This place is amazing so far.

How wonderful to have a vet clinic at your fingertips, so to speak. When I first got goats, I read a book that said while it's unlikely to find a vet who knows a lot about goats, any of them will likely know more about veterinary medicine than you do. That knowledge can come in handy even if they aren't experts in whatever species you have.

Don't be too concerned that farm animals are "alien" to you. Sometimes, they surprise even those us who think we know what's going on!

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
Dry fowl pox will run it's course. You can apply some iodine to the lesions to help them dry out and prevent secondary infection and support the flock with an extra nutrient boost with a bit of Poultry Nutri-drench or equivalent. Keep an eye out for lesions forming in the mouth or throat which is the wet form and more concerning.
