Hi, my name is Mohamed. I have 5 adult chickens, 4 5-month old chickens, 17 2-month old chicks (about half are females), 7 1-month old chicks.
I have about 9 month experience with them, so i'm fairly new.
My main problem is attacks from stray dogs, i have lost some chicks. Other than that things are great.
I don't know my chicken's breeds.
I like gardening. Although i don't have time for it or for chickens anymore because of my new job.
I forgot about the roosters, i have 1 adult rooster, i don't know how old because i bought it, this is the one i started with, and i have 2 5month old roosters. I had 6 from last year's hatch and i sold 4, it was heartbreaking but i had to do it, they were over mating my chickens.

Welcome to this very knowledgeable group forum. You will learn a lot.
I am sorry to read about your chicken loss to stray dogs. Hope you get your coop and run predator proof because they will be back. I nice round of ammo will do the trick if your ok with that. Otherwise, get your high voltage electric wire fired up to send them flying!!
The REAL BYC "Greeters" will be on here shortly to welcome you and give you all the chicken scoop of the BYC forum. WELCOME!!!

Hello Mohamed! Welcome to BYC, it's very nice to meet you! :frow Do your chickens free range, or are they kept in a run? :)
They free range.

Thank you, i have been learning a lot for a while, i just didn't subscribe here till now.
I can't afford weapons or electric wires, i just stay and watch for them, they mostly come in early morning. My chickens sleep in my garage it's very safe and partly open from above, it's very spacious and comfortable, but i don't want them to stay there, i let them out in the morning to free range, and i go eat breakfast, that's when the dogs come, so i have to sacrifice breakfast i guess.

Well, I am sure after you read about everything you can do to protect your flock, you will find a good solution. Don't miss breakfast, you'll just have to eat your breakfast with your flock! Lol
If I did, they would pester me to share! Lol.
Hope the stray dogs stay away.
Good nite
