Landlord has chickens and I enjoy putting out some grain for them when they visit. I found some bugs in it, and just wanted to be sure that it was safe to feed to them.

Hey Welcome to Backyard Chickens .. As long as you did not see mold.
Although keeping food pest free is the prefered bugs rats or mice can spread disease

Personally, I'd toss the feed and get a fresh bag. Instead of offering them grains, try a bag of chick starter. Toss it out like a treat. They'll still love scratching it up and eating it even though it is good for them!
